Simple Spanish phrases are really useful when you are just starting out here are few to get started they are not in any particular order.

 

How are you = COMO ESTAS

 

See you later = HASTA LUEGO

 

Do you know = SABAS

 

Did you know = SABIA USTED

 

Hello = HOLA

 

Good day= BUENAS DIAS

 

Good afternoon= BUENAS TARDES

 

Good evening= BUENAS NOCHES

 

Very well and you?= MUY BIEN Y TU?

 

Somebody has stolen my passport = ALGUIEN TIENE MI PASSAPORTE

 

Somebody needs help now = ALGUIEN NECESITA AYUDA AHORA

 

I need help = NECCESITO AYUDA

 

Thank you it is not necessary = GRACIAS NO ES NECESARIO

 

Somebody wants to buy it = ALGUIEN QUIERE COMPRARLO

 

It is a fact there are many more ways of saying the same thing but these are of the most popular and easy to remember.

 

However you might want to move on to longer simple Spanish phrases or sentences incorporating the above for example;

 

Good afternoon what are you doing tonight?

BUENAS TARDES QUE ESTAS SU HACIENDO?

 

Good morning what are you doing this afternoon= BUENUS DIAS QUE HACIENDO ESTA TARDE?

 

Hello my name is = HOLA MI NOMBRE ES

 

What is your name = COMO TE LLAMAS.

 

 But important to note with regard to this phrase what they are really saying is “what are you called”.

 

Somebody has stolen my passport but its okay it is not important because it has expired

 

ALGUIEN TIENE ROBADO MI PASAPORTE PERO QUE ESTA BIEN NO ES IMPORTANTE HA CADUCADO.

 

I need help to find my passport because somebody stole it yesterday

 

NECESITO ADYUDA ENCONTRA MI PASAPODRTE PORQUE ALGUIEN LO ESTOLA AYER

 

Did you know you can pick up your messages from the hotel = SABIA USTED SE PUEDE SUS MENSAJES DE EL HOTEL

 

Did you know you can travel by train if you want to?= SABIA USTED SE PUEDE VIAJE EN TREN SE QUIERE?

 

Did you know you can go there by train if you prefer?

 

SABIA USTED SE PUEDE IR EN TREN DE USTED PREFIEREO?

 

I have just = ACABO DE

 

This can be used in numerous ways for example;

 

I have just left = ACABO DE SALIR

 

I have just arrived = ACABO DE LLEGAR

 

I have just arrived this moment = ACABO DE LLEGAR ESTE MOMENTO

 

I have just arrived 2 minutes ago = ACABO DE LLEGAR HACE DOS MINUTOS

 

He has just left = EL ACABO DE SALIR

 

He has just arrived = EL ACABO DE LLEGAR

 

She has just arrived = ELLA ACABO DE LLEGAR

 

Important to pay attention that he = EL and she = ELLA

 

 

 

These are just a few simple Spanish phrases to get started that I have picked up in just a few weeks.
